2021 Logo Launch!

It is my pleasure to present to you the 2021 Simplified Logo Launch! Throughout much of 2021 the marvelous Graphics Development Team led by our Graphics Goddess @Siera al'Cere have worked tirelessly to provide new simplified official logos for TarValon.Net. The large shawl/shield logos are still our Official Logos, these are just another option for our membership to use.

A big thank you to all those members who provided their input throughout this process. We know it can be hard to find the perfect graphics, colours and feels to represent a group so we appreciate everyone who took part in making these the best that they could be.

We have included a simple signature for each group however if you would like another signature design or a badge with writing added please feel free to request it through the Marketing Graphics Request Form and request “Graphics Only”.

Scheduled Logo Revamps!

The Department of Marketing recognises that over time and through changes to membership etc. that the need/want may arise for there to be changes made to logos and colours. From this point forward the Department of Marketing will be revamping the logos every two years. Due to the amount of time and effort which goes into making even one small change we hope that this will enable groups to see the changes they would like within a reasonable amount of time. The next revamp will take place in 2023. During 2023 there will be a post made to General and emails will be sent out to all Membership Admins (including JM admins) to ensure that all members know the revamp is happening.

EDIT TO ADD : The revamp every two years is something we are offering, it is not something that any group will have to do if they don't want to. It's more about offering the opportunity if there's a desire for a change.

So I'm just going to state my thoughts here because yeah.

1) I am personally not happy with the simple logos. It seems unnecessary to have done this.

2) Logo revamps every two years? Really? Can we not? It took Yellow long enough to even find something that we were ok with. I don't want to have to go through this every two freaking years.

3) I don't remeber the smaller departments having logos or needing them. Maybe I missed something but anyways.

Some of these do look great. I'm not saying they all suck. I am just still not happy with Yellow and we were forced to decide. So yeah every 2 years we will go through this crap again. Sorry not sorry.

What do you mean by 'smaller departments" not needing logos?
First of all there were no departmental logos before, all of them are newly created for ALL DEPARTMENTS, but second, if one department has one, why shouldn't all have one?
Does that also mean that if Yellow doesn't like their simplified logo, therefore no groups should have it, is this your logic?

My apologies Aven, I'll make a clarification in my first post. The revamp every two years is something we are offering, it is not something that any group will have to do if they don't want to. It's more about offering the opportunity if there's a desire for a change.

I'm sorry that you're not happy with the Yellow design. The groups were consulted in the hopes that they would be able to provide some guidance on what they liked, and many redesigns were worked on to try and achieve a "best choice" for each group. Unfortunately with any group decision it's hard to get something that everyone likes.

I second Ilverin's sentiment here. I can understand your concerns, Avendaella - Yellow did have some trouble figuring out our logo and the best way to represent ourselves, but that is our problem, not any other department's.

I think it's lovely that we have options to begin with - as mentioned, no one is going to force us to use anything we would prefer not to. Hell, I feel like if we ever changed our minds and had an epiphany about our logo, we could reach out to the Graphics Department and request an adjustment, and they would likely be amenable, depending on the circumstances.

I like them a lot! The Department ones were a pleasant surprise, I didn't know about them.

@Aleita Taviah, thank you very much for all the hard work that you and your team have put into this. Small Logos and Department logos will spiff up official communications, and make tables easier to delineate for folks to find at Tower events as we grow from the launch of the series.

No and I never said that. I stated my opion. You took it that far. I just didn't remeber the smaller departments having a logo and mentioned it not that they shouldn't have one.

Thanks for the clarification as it sounded like we would have to go through this every two years. Because it was the back and forth with our changes that didn't work for me.
