As Chief Bean of Clan Kaf, I'm obligated to respond this bit of shade you've thrown here.
*rattles spears*
Clan Tea is nothing more than a weak, watered down imitation of the real brew!

Thank you all! I definitely feel very welcome now!

Privyet! Welcome to Tarvalon.net, there is no burning of books here thankfully.

Satrim Sedai, I hope it is not too far out of order to admit I got a bit of a chuckle out of hearing that from someone whose signature includes the title 'Master of Flame'!

Eventually, a tepid peace was steeped in the common kettle of mutual self-interest. It was a dark roasted time, that is now, of course, well behind us. However, should you feel so inclined to escape the filthy has-bean coffee addicts *spits*, and find a place among fellow tea lovers, may I direct you to this thread here:

Mutual kettle! I suppose this means they resorted to *grimaces* instant coffee, at the last?

I love everything you've written here. Are there any flowers that delight you in particular, or is it just the sight of any of them?
Languages are a passion of mine and I do teach them, so if you ever need any help...

Thank you, Luna Sedai! :) I have favorite flowers - pansies, violets, gardenias, roses, dogwoods, buttercups, tulips - but generally can be delighted by any. My favorite part of spring is when all the pastures I pass in a day turn purple with...some sort of weeds, and at times a mix of purple and yellow. What I believe are wisterias grow wild along the roadsides and are beautiful right now. The apple trees in my yard are covered in blooms, as are the blueberry bushes. There are tiny tiny tiny pale blue flowers that close in on themselves in the evening all around the mailbox. I love them all.

The first case was not a success though, they didn't like the series, as far as I can remember

Interesting! Statistically, I suppose, it's inevitable that more than one person would do that, but I'm still surprised to hear of another one. I may be something heretical here, but I do remember finding EotW a bit of a letdown after WH; there are certainly many elements of the later books I will happily criticize, but I do think Jordan's prose improved markedly around The Shadow Rising, and the prose itself was what hooked me first, even in the midst of all the details I didn't understand.

As I also love and adore books, tea, and learning languages (with mixed success)...you rock. :D I opted to go with Japanese instead of Russian, years back. I was bored working an overnight job and wanted to learn a language that didn't use the Roman alphabet.

Thank you! You rock as well :) I am impressed by anyone who attempts Japanese; I had to do a whole workbook just to nail down Cyrillic. Also sympathize on the need to pass the time in a dull job; I read more than half of War and Peace (in English!) during a work assignment where we were at the mercy of seriously glitchy computers which frequently left us unable to do much of anything for thirty minutes at a time.

I burn many things, but books are never on that list  Otherwise, I do love a good bonfire!

*squeaks and attempts to drop curtsy*

*remembers she's wearing trousers and switches to bowing instead*

Thank you, Mother - I'm very glad I have, too!

Welcome to the site! :D I also chose my last name because Moiraine was my favorite character, and "Caliarthan" was super close to Cairheinien. :look:
