Now Hiring: IRC Chat Ops!

All,

I am hiring new chat ops for the upcoming term! This is an excellent position for individuals who want to help out with the site and who enjoy being in our IRC chat.

Requirements:

• You must be a member of at least 6 months
  
• You must be someone who frequents chat regularly
  
• You must possess tact
  
• You must possess discretion

Responsibilities:

• Moderate the chat rooms and keep them family friendly
  
• Diffuse any flare-ups that might occur between members
  
• Enforce chat and Tower policies

Even if you have never been an op anywhere before, please apply! To ensure that everyone’s on the same page and to ensure that all our ops are on the same page and have the necessary technical skills to do the job, our wonderful Master of Chat will be offering classes which every op needs to take at least once (though you’re always welcome to drop in for a refresher!).

If you would like to apply, please send an application to moderators@tarvalon.net and keeper@tarvalon.net detailing why you would like to be an op, why you think you would be good at it, and most importantly, what times you can be available as an op IN GMT (and here’s a handy converter). We need ops from around the world to cover all the various time zones in which our members live.

Applications must be received at moderators@tarvalon.net and keeper@tarvalon.net no later than October 14th, 2018. I will be making hiring decisions immediately thereafter and terms will start on October 15th.
