I've only finished reading Dragon Reborn the other day so I'm still in the process of learning about the WoT world but I found the description of the show a bit misleading at first. However, when my friends asked me what is it about then, I struggled to find a simpler explanation than the one they provided in the press release.

I'm all up for Moiraine's perspective because she's been my favourite character so far. I think there could be an easy transition from her perspective into a story about Rand. If they wish to keep the identity of Dragon Reborn, looking at the story from the perspective of another character who is also trying to figure it out is a smarter choice.

Not a 100% sure Slytherin would be a Red Ajah though, I'm Slytherin according to the HP website but I would choose Blue or Yellow Ajah in the books :)

Not often. They do it when a show is popular enough, like with The Man In The High Castle.

I guess I will be creating a savings account so I can get Amazon to watch WOT, then.

I really wish they reconsider that stance. The Internet isn't the greatest in my region so it can be hard to do things without it, and almost impossible to stream video with it. :(

I'm lucky that my mom has had a Prime account for years now. In the past, you could add several family members to your plan and they could all benefit from your subscription while still being able to have their own account settings. They don't let you do that any more I don't think, but my account still gets to keep its Prime status from my mom's unless she lets it lapse.

They replaced it with something called Household, which is pretty similar. You may only get shipping/pricing benefits though. I haven't looked at it in awhile.

I really love the idea of Moiraine as the main PoV in the first season. Feels much more sensible for a TV show. The whole "we'll know who's the Dragon Reborn anyway", I don't know ... I think Game of Thrones might've instilled some doubt in people, as to who's going to be important in the long run :P

And it doesn't have to be a complete mystery. Rand might be the main suspect for people who have no idea, but as long as there's some doubt, it'll probably be more fun than outright having him as the obvious DR from the start.

Personally, while I love the books and what they have to say, I do have some criticisms in regards to gender politics. That doesn't take away from my love for them, and the impact they've had on my life.

From what I've seen from Rafe Judkins in regards to what he's planning, I think the show is going in the direction I'm hoping. That is, less of "women are inscrutable" from men, and "men are to be manipulated and managed" from women. :look:

YES. I am re-reading the series, and find this bothers me a lot more now than it did the first time around. I am so excited to hear that the show sounds like it will make the relationships between men and women more complex and human.

(Even the man/woman pairs who fell in love in the books always left me going ... why? You're constantly pissed at each other! Even when men and women work together in the books they seem to have battle lines drawn.)

Lol fine.

YOU GUYS. Imagine talking to people about what Ajah they would choose like people talk about which Hogwarts House they're in now.

AAAAAAAH!!

:(

I think Prime lets you download stuff to a device. So you may have to wait while you get a local file, but you shouldn't need to direct stream it off the site in order to watch!

This is correct. (I'm on my parents' household account. Somehow. Despite being 30 in like two weeks.) You get the shipping benefits but not the media access.
