I'm slightly embarrassed by how many times I've read them. I picked them up in 2000 after Winter's Heart came out and read through them about once a year . . . and that's not including other books, but I have a lot of time to read. :brown-blink:

About the only real leisure reading time I take advantage of is drive time - which I have a lot of - but audiobooks slow down your consumption quite a bit. I think I've read everything twice and the early books maybe four times. That's a lot of reads lol. I wouldn't be embarrassed though. Personally I'm a little jealous

Yes, it is quite a luxury to have as much time to read as I do.

I hope this will be a good show, but as it appears to be willing to succumb to the so-called social justice warriors it may look scary it.

I do not mind equality and all that, but certainly feel that the books of Jordan have already taken gender equality etc, so it's not necessary to push something new and I think the fans want to stick to the books as they are.

Is there something in particular you're worried about?

Good point about how we've already taken on gender equality. I suppose we've got our fill here. Glad to check that box and call it done.

Social justice themes: one of those new-fangled inventions that definitely were never present in sci-fi and fantasy back in the Olden Days. Looks like Millennials are killing book-to-tv adaptations now!

I think the fans want to stick to the books as they are.

I suggest you say instead "I want this show to stick to the books as I see them" and not speak for either the fandom as a whole nor "the books as they are" as if you're the final expert on what they are.

Yes, unfortunately, it looks like this, but we'll live in hope and wait to see what they're getting to when it comes to the WoT series.

Wow. So anyway...

That was an interesting question from Rafe, and it’s been fun reading the answers people have.

I have to admit, because of my time here I’m really curious to see how the show depicts the Tower, and all the relationships among the sedais and warders and JMs. And how the show shows the culture of the Knitting Circle and Wise Ones in contrast.

I can't wait to see what they do with the Knitting Circle! I found their society fascinating and charming :pleased-1:

I hope they include the whole Kin and not just the Knitting Circle. :look: They're all kind of important.

Yes, and some of my favourite characters.

I loved how it was revealed that they lived so much longer than Aes Sedai because they hadn't held the Oath Rod.
