I really want to donate again, but I have two complications.
One, I refuse to donate to the Red Cross, and the other collection organization around has hours that are very difficult to get to around my work schedule.
Two, even if I have the time, what do I do with my toddler? I already have a full-time babysitter for while I'm at work, and I don't want to over-burden my family, who I regularly ask to help out. But there is zero chance he won't be running around and pulling on tubes, and I can't properly watch him with a needle in my arm.

Can you donate to a specific hospital? For instance I have only ever donated to MD Anderson Cancer Hospital directly. Not sure about the child care part though.

Just booked an appointment for myself and for my husband. I haven't donated in years because of pregnancy or anemia so I'm hoping I'll be okay to donate!! I have O- so they always want me :\

Ended up being sick and unable to donate in July (had a fever and everything)

Tried to donate yesterday but my hemoglobin was too low. I'm really bummed about it, actually, because first of all I wasn't expecting that and also it's been 2 years since I've donated.
Thanks for this thread as a reminder, though, and I hope people continue to donate. I know Canada has a real need right now for donations.

:fistbump to Alenya, and I'm sorry it didn't work out for you, Juliya - do you have ways to get it up, through diet or supplements or whatnot? For your own sake as much as for any future donation attempts.

I just wanted to thank all of you that are donating. My son ended up with two transfusions this weekend, and if it weren't for donations he'd still be pretty sick. So thank you for donating!

Wanted to give a October update as to the Blood Drive. As of today we have had 16 donations! The top donating member groups again is the Brown Ajah at 4 . but the Non-Affiliated JM's are Equal 4

Soooooo I found out a few weeks ago that my liver function is actually *perfect* (that's the word the nurse used) and so there's really no reason I can't start to donate blood again!
