“Will we reach the Eye today, Moiraine Sedai?” Egwene asked.
The Aes Sedai gave Loial a sidelong look. “I hope that we will. When I found it before, it was just the other side of the mountains, at the foot of the high passes.”
“He says it moves,” Mat said, nodding at Loial. “What if it isn’t where you expect?”
“Then we will continue to hunt until we do find it. The Green Man senses need, and there can be no need greater than ours. Our need is the hope of the world.”

In the first book, although I can't quite find the exact passage, a big deal is made that finding the Green Man / Eye of the World is something that can only be done once (per person). Moiraine has already found the Green Man once, presumably some time between the end of New Spring and the start of Eye of the World. She also doesn't seem the least bit worried that she won't be able to find him again, so I presume that Someshta probably instructed her to come back to him with the Dragon Reborn.
I further assume this would have come up in one of the unwritten prequel books. I've asked this before in a couple other forums and mostly the answer I've gotten is: "We just don't have enough information." Maybe I'm looking more for your best speculation on the topic, (unless you can pick out some book references others have not regarding the subject, but I really don't think there are any.)
So, yeah... questions:
1. Why did Moiraine meet the Green Man previously, and how exactly did it take place?
2. How likely is it Moiraine's first trip to the Green Man was not related to the Dragon Reborn? Would she have any other reason to go to the blight between New Spring and Eye of the World?
3. When do you think this alleged meeting happened? Years prior, or immediately before she sets out for Emond's Field? Is that how she knew to go there? And if so, how would Someshta know where Rand was?
Speculate away!
