The Amyrlin is no longer Aes Sedai, and can therefore bond one. If she were to step down, it would be with every intention to be Gaidin.
While we are still open to site changes, at this time, Aes Sedai bonds are not open :)

This is pretty much what I was thinking. Right now Mother belongs to all groups but is not officially part of any. If she didn't become the Amrylin she would have already demoted and gone Warder by now :)

Yeah, it makes perfect sense. I don't envy Rhed's position, finally getting integration, but not being able to officially change paths until she steps down. She and Jeffan deserve no less than to have their bond restored. :pleased-1: I did get freaking excited to finally have Aes Sedai/Aes Sedai bonds, because those are long overdue, but unfortunately, I guess we'll have to be a bit more patient still. :(

Canon says the Amyrlin is Aes Sedai; however, our community is structured differently from the canonical White Tower, so an Amyrlin here is neither Aes Sedai nor Gaidin, since one could be raised from either to become Amyrlin.


Speculation about where I'll retire is amusing, though (I hope :look: ) very premature. :) I expect to be in this position for another few years, at least. ;)

We would like a pair of these, and from Barnes & Noble, we ask that people simply gift us their absolute favorite non-Wheel of Time book.

Actually you should consult me before buying me any books as my library is extensive and I'd hate to banish you for getting me a duplicate book.
