Hi?

I'm Carina, you can call me Cari, I guess? I'm new to the name, so we'll see what sticks. I found this site by googling "how to become an aes sedai in real life," lurked it for a few days, and decided to join! You all seem very friendly. I'm kind of awkward and anxious when it comes to socialization, so I'll probably lurk some more (besides this post) until I've gotten the feel for the tone of the site. :P (also, this site has cool emojis. My favorite is :tug)
I guess I'll answer some of the questions from the help thread?
My favorite character in WoT. Uhh. Um. *whispers* literally all the female characters but mostly Egwene I guess maybe? I don't know, I love everybody.
I'm a high school student, soon to be a college student! Hopefully I'll major in computer science, but I'm getting way ahead of myself here. I'm 14. ("Aren't you a bit young to be going to college?" Yes. Yes, I am! Hopefully I'm not too much younger than the majority of people on here, but I probably am.)
My favorite author other than RJ is Brandon Sanderson, of course. I read WoT first, liked Brandon's writing, and read all of his other books. Almost all, anyway. A name I go by elsewhere is Mist, inspired by Mistborn.

Mistborn is awesome! I made an OC for another fandom based around it (she wears a mistcoat from the Alloy of Law and her special ability is called Mistborn. Lel). I also totally understand the feel of picking a favorite character in WoT. It's hard. It took me AGES to figure out mine was Faile.

Great to meet you, Cari! I love most of the female characters in the books. Siuan was always my favorite, though Egwene and Verin come close behind. The exception to that is Elaida, who I want to be reborn over and over so she can die in a dumpster fire each life

You are young to be going to college, yes, but you are not the youngest person here at TV.Net, nor the only one heading to college at a younger-than-usual age. I'm sure as you start to post in various places and get to know people that some of our younger members will pop out and say hello.

You seem enthusiastic enough, I like that. It is quite admirable that you are tackling your education so fiercely already.

I have only recently read other Sanderson's works, and I am absolutely in love with the "Mistborn" trilogy. I've also read "The Alloy of Law" and am anxiously awaiting to get my [strike]clutches[/strike] hands on the rest of the Wax and Wayne series. I read "Legion", too, and am in the middle of "The Emperor's Soul". In just a few months, Sanderson's become one of my favourite authors.

I love that you found us through that search term. That's actually part of our founding story.

Eleyan and Wendy were sitting around drinking Goldschlagger and started talking about WoT, and then one of them said to the other, "How do you become Aes Sedai?" and the other said, "Someone has to make you Aes Sedai" and so Wendy said, "Then I hereby make you Aes Sedai" and Eleyan said, "And as the first Aes Sedai, I hereby make you Aes Sedai."

There's slightly more process to it now.
