Suggestion (may not even be feasible)

On a gaming forum I used to be a member of they had something similar to the "Post Icons" this forum has, however you could apply it to any members posts, and they could see what people thought of it. Some of the options were: informative, funny, agree, disagree, good idea etc. and they had an associated icon. If "n" people rated it say funny, you would see the "[funny icon]x n" at the bottom of the post. If you then clicked it you could see the names of these "n" people.

I suggest this because, there are times, where I would like the poster to know that I think there post if funny/informative/I agree with it etc. however I don't think it warrants a post/I feel it would be awkward to just post that. This is a work-around way which I really liked on that forum.

Would something like this be possible/what do you think about it? :)

The rating system in vBulletin has something similar, but we decided to not implement it. It goes both ways, positive and negative, and when it rates posts it also rates users. As we cannot pick and choose what we want from the system - it's all or nothing - we decided to just not use it.
