In our commitment to philanthropy, TarValon.Net hosts an annual charity fundraiser drive during our winter Feast of Lights festival. This year our chosen charity, as voted for by members of the community, is Room to Read.
At events such as this, TarValon.Net likes to select a local charity and give back to the community that's hosting us for the weekend. At this year's Fall Ball we have selected the Chattanooga Community Kitchen as our recipient. TarValon.Net is asking you all to consider bringing a donation to this very worthwhile organization.
Fans of the Wheel of Time and members of TarValon.Net might remember our previous fundraiser, during which donors had the opportunity to name a character in Brandon Sanderson's TOWERS OF MIDNIGHT.
You now have a chance to name a character in the forthcoming (and final) book, A MEMORY OF LIGHT.
The Robert Jordan estate, Brandon Sanderson and JordanCon, Inc. have announced a joint effort to raise money for two non-profit organizations and offer fans the chance to name a character in the final installment of the Wheel of Time.
TarValon.Net's 2010 Feast of Lights drive has come to a close! This year, we raised $3,221.00 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure in memory of Padraigin Sedai, who passed away this year after fighting breast cancer. We had 112 donors, making this our largest Feast of Lights drive yet!
And of course, we had some amazing prizes this year to raffle off. The winners are....

TarValon.Net's 2010 Feast of Lights drive is now open! This year's drive is very special for us. We are raising money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure in memory of Padraigin Sedai, who passed away this year after fighting breast cancer. Please help us to honor her memory by contributing to this fund and passing the word along to others.
As part of our commitment to philanthropy, TarValon.Net, Inc. hosts an annual Feast of Lights charity drive during the holiday season. In the spirit of giving, we select an outside charitable organization with a cause that resonates with the Wheel of Time community. Participation is open to anyone interested, and is not limited to TarValon.Net, Inc. members.
When/Why does TarValon.Net, Inc. participate in intermittent drives and donations?
Though we already have regularly scheduled philanthropic activities, sometimes a need arises outside of these programs. If the cause is important to our general membership, and there is a desire to contribute, then we will run a program specifically for the need.
I know of a cause that we should support! How can I suggest this?
TarValon.Net, Inc. participates in other philanthropy activities when the need arises. These special activities are usually to support a cause that is of particular interest to our community.
Servants of All is a program to encourage our members to participate in philanthropic activities outside of our organization. Members will receive recognition for donating money/goods, volunteering their time, and doing other charity work in their communities.
