TarValon.Net has new forums!

Since the initial release of phpbb3, our Department of Technology has been working towards implementing the new version of our forums. After a couple of years of work, and a server migration gone bad, we are finally ready to release them to our membership!

As you can see, the new forums are quite spiffy, and they are integrated with Drupal, which is the CMS our main site is built upon. Having the integration between our main site and our forums has been a long-time goal, and it has finally been accomplished. When you log in to the main site (located left), you are also logged in to the forums. Be sure to use the log-in information from our old forums!

Once you log in, click on the Member Account link to the left. There is where you can update your password and upload your avatar. If you do change your password, be sure to log out and log back in! Otherwise you may not be able to access the forums. If you find yourself unable to log in, please email support@tarvalon.net and tell us what you did and what error(s) you received.

As you make the transition to our new forums, please make sure to check out Entry Portal and Passport Control, the forum where you can post which usergroups you need, report bugs, and find out how to do things like change your avatar. All usergroup additions have to happen manually and cannot happen until you log in to the new site, so please be sure to log in and check the new forums out! Once you have been added to your usergroups (which may take up to a week after you post, so please be patient), take a look around. The structure is a bit different on our new forums, primarily because there are sub-forums. Because of the server migration that crashed our forums and lost several months of posts, this transition is likely to be a bit chaotic, and it is unlikely that we will regain the posts from the old forums, though we will leave them up for archival purposes for at least a couple of years. Please forgive us as we all settle into our new home at the same time.
