@Jocasta Braithe thank you for sparking my memory banks!

You're welcome!

I can tell there's a lot of activity with the speed of responses on this thread, but I can't find it, is it mostly in the upper level forums? Any advice on where to dive in as a newbie?

post number 46 there. (edit: just saw Adany's post, ok yeah I guess you can't see it yet)

be careful browsing threads here... most of us here have finished the books a long time ago, even though most here know to be careful with spoilers, sometimes it can subtlety happen. tread carefully is my only advice, you should be ok for most part though, just make sure you focus on finishing the series, it was the best ending I have ever read in a book series. WoT is special to a lot of us for a lot of different reasons. I dropped out of school at age 14-15 because I grew up in a drug family and I was very lost mentally. WoT saved me, instead of going out getting involved with bad influences, I stayed in my room hooked on the books, which led me to other book series too, etc. but it was WoT that started it all for me. If it wasn't for these books I probably would on a different trajectory, as it weird as it might sound, in my experience a lot of life is about how and whom you spend your time with, I was very lucky. Some lady who lived in Japan I played Magic the Gathering online with introduced me to the series in 2003 or so.

I am 31 now and getting my Master's in Ireland... so yeah... :yay:penguin:penguin:penguin:bunny:bunny:bunny:turtule:turtule:turtule

Welcome to TarValon.net! :D

As Adanys said, the further up in ranks you go, the more forums open up. I think the largest jump is when you become a Citizen and gain access to the City Hall forums. Then at novice/recruit you lose those but gain access to the Tower. At Accepted/Soldier you keep the Tower and the City opens back up. And then at Aes Sedai/Gaidin you keep those and then gain access to forums for Senior Members only.

Welcome, Jocasta! I'm another D&D player, myself. I'm actually running my first game, and I'm really excited about it.

Welcome Jocasta! :D

Like many others have posted, I love games (of the video and tabletop variety) too! There’s lots of nerds here so you’ll fit right in. :yes

Do you have a favorite video game or genre? I love JRPGs, but I do play other things since I don’t always have 80+ hours to sink into a game. :look:

I love JRPGs! I just started a replay of Persona 3 for PS2. I play it when the baby naps, haha.

:embarassed:mg My first Persona game was Persona 5, which I looooove. I would like to go back and play P3 and P4. :D Right now I'm about to start FFX-2. I just played through the FFX remaster, but never played FFX-2 so I figured I'd give it a try.

FFX2 is a favorite of mine but you have to be ok with it not taking itself seriously all the time. Battle system is amazing, and the main storyline is pretty interesting, but there are silly lighthearted bits too. I Love it.

It’s the Queen of Cups, but she’s not from a deck, she’s an illustration from an artist on deviant art, as far as I know she’s only done the knights, queens, and King’s.
