Is anyone else disappointed about the Ways and Machin Shin not being sorted out?

Totally! I really wanted to see the Ways clean and purty again!

I WAS surprised that it was only 6 months ago the Elayne got preggers, though... she's been pregnant for quite some books... (probably at least 10 years since... if not more by now, bookwise )

I was surprised (and dissatisfied) that there wasn't an epilogue set, say, 5 years in the future. We can see Elayne's lil twins running around. We can learn how Rand, Min, Elayne, and Aviendha manage to maintain their relationship (or not) with Rand in a new body. Does Mat return to Seanchan with Tuon? Etc.

I was also kinda thinking we might get to see the babies that Birgitte and Gaidal were born into.

I sure hope BS writes some sequels! (And finishes the prequel trilogy!)

I was surprised that we never saw a "dragon" or learned why the Dragon was called "Dragon." Kind of expected there to be some kind of explanation of that at some point.

I never even thought of that. I bet the answer is "he's called the Dragon because Robert Jordan loves dragons." :giggle I wonder if anyone has ever asked Brandon or Harriet or anyone official?

He won't.

Question: What about the outriggers? (The sequel trilogy to the Wheel of Time series that Robert Jordan had planned to write.)

Answer: It's not going to happen. Harriet and I are both firm on this. Robert Jordan wouldn't have wanted it to happen. He said that he wanted the series to be finished, but he did not want anything more. (He was even uncomfortable with the idea of someone like myself finishing the series.)

Beyond this, at the Q&A on Monday, Harriet revealed something I previously haven't been able to tell you but that I've known for quite some time—that Robert Jordan didn't leave much of anything in the way of notes for the Outriggers. There are, quite literally, only two sentences of explanation from RJ telling us what the plot of the outriggers was to be about.

So no, no outriggers. I highly doubt you will see the prequels either, and for similar reasons. All good things must come to an ending. And this is ours.

LOL I was thinking at first that they raken would turn out to be dragons. But no.. they have wings... and when they see an inn with a sign of a dragon with wings on it, they laugh - how silly, of course dragons don't have wings!

No, I totally saw this coming!! I also knew as soon as they saw that the male aiel could channel, that they were the ones who had been sent up to fight.

I was so surprised about Rand and Galad being half brothers even though the mentioned Tigrane being his mother a way back I just didn't make the connection in my head.
I'm so happy Rand kept living, and that he got freedom from being that "character" that everyone made him be. He finally got freedom to be an ordinary guy.

Pardon Jeffin Gaidin, but Elayne, Aviendha, and Min were watching him leave the area. Either Elayne or Aviendha could have lit it for him. :-) I was also surprised that events of series covered only 3 years or so.

Three years was something that definitely surprised me as well. With the way they kept talking about how they were all growing up and seeing the world, etc, I at least expected 5 years, if not more.

What surprised me the most was probably the Sharans. I was wondering if we were going to get a glimpse at them, but it seemed like that was impossible being that it was the last book, and then POP there they were.
