Just a heads-up for anyone thinking of reading Outlander, there is a lot of rape, attempted rape, and discussion of rape in the first book, and at least one instance includes some really visceral sensory details. Mentioned because I suspect I would have enjoyed the book a whole lot more if I'd known that going in.

Ah, yes, good point Ashyln. I should have included trigger warnings for readers, but it didn't occur to me. Good call.

Duly noted. Thanks for the warning Ashlyn Sedai.

I read the books years ago and I am just past weekend watching the show. I am really surprised at how well the show portrays the emotions of these difficult scenes/topics so well. Very impressive acting for sure.

I am not sure how I managed to not notice this... Of course this does not mean it is a sure thing the series will be made, just means the rights have been sold. So I am trying not to be too excited but.... :shifty :joy

Super interested in this. I am really hoping that an HBO, Showtime, Amazon have picked this up; really anyone other than a traditional network. I figure that HBO will need something to fill the void that GoT will leave after next season. I see some people saying that they will watch the whole thing even if it is terrible; I just can't commit to that. I really enjoyed the Sword of Truth series, but I could not make it through one season of the TV show; it was just SO bad.

I hadn't heard that they planned to stop the show after next season, it's been such a big hit and they have started going beyond the books so much that i wouldn't be surprised if they just kept going. I hope they do lol.

I know i love this series, it is one of my favourites for sure, but i couldn't even make through a single episode. The writing was terrible, the acting was worse, and the entire thing was just awful in every way. Huge disappointment. If plans for a WoT show do go forward, i hope that at least put in more effort than they did with Sword of Truth.

But the actors' contracts will be up and I am sure many (who don't end up dying anyway :P) won't want to stay on as they will have other projects lined up. But I guess they may start telling other stories from Westeros.

Yeah i guess that makes sense, but i'm still sad that it might not run longer

Apparently, the GoT showrunners have changed their tune now; came across several articles referencing season 8 being the last, and season 7 & 8 being shorter than the standard 10 episodes.

I would love a WoT series on Netflix; I think my only concern would be budget considering the special effects that would be required.

Yeah you have a good point there, i would rather them not do it than do it poorly

Except for the last season, I agree.

The plotline was waaay too fast. What took ages in the first season (for example Arya's travelling) was not een mentioned in this one. There are many other examples.
It seems like they want to end the story fast and leave out any details. The details was something I liked a lot in the beginning.
