If anything like that were the case, we would have learnt of it when RJ was writing about the Aiel. He spent several books exposing their culture, their beliefs, and their history.

Nakomi is someone familiar to Aviendha, so it may very well be someone from her past or from a vision. But I highly doubt the Jenn Aiel
are some sort of Randland Jewish culture.

What about what Nakomi said when Aviendha asked her what clan she's from - something about how it wasn't her place to say or something like that? That made me think she could be Jenn...

Hello, first time posting.

I don't think that Nakomi is the creator, but I do think she is the avatar for mother earth. The wheel has a balance to everything and the creator does not get involved in any way. However if the DO is the Lord of Death and Nakomi/(Gaia) is Mother Earth/Life then the wheel of time simply is woven between the two. Neither can directly interfere under normal circumastances. The DO is given direct access via the bore, but still needs Shadar Haran until the seals weaken enough to manifest. Likewise I believe that it is the Earth Mother's voice rand hears in EoTW.

I have read somewhere that RJ stated that the eye was not used as its intended purpose. What if the location of the eye is the Earth Mother's equivalent to the bore on the DO's prison. It has that special tree and maybe the eye was intended as a means getting a direct link to her. It would then make sense that the most important items were stored there, where it is farthest from the DO's direct reach. I have not read EotW in a long long time, so someone check my theory please.

EDIT: After rereading the chapter with the green man, I see I remembered very wrong. The location of the tree of life would be the earth mother's equivalent to the place the bore was made. The eye was made by aes sedai sacrificing themseleves to get as much pure sadin as possible so the bore could be properly sealed (even they must have believed it was impossible to cleanse it). The items were just left there as the green man was the best protector.

Could one assume that if there is an age where they open a pathway to the DO , that there would also be ages where they open a pathway to the earth mother? If the DO can facilitate creating shades where the bore is opened, then species like the green man would most likely be only created when the earth mother has an open pathway.

I would say that would make a green man the antithesis of a fade which seems to also be an artificial construct of sorts. With the DO sealed I doubt more fades could me made. Makes me think there is another necessary component other than just the One Power. Kinda wish we knew more about the age just before the age of legends.. that would give us some hints as to how they got the things they had.

The Nym are............ well not slaves exactly, but a bit of a weird situation.

They basically made themselves sentient living gardeners out of plants.

The ethics in that is........... tricky.

Maybe like the Jews are to the Christian God, the Jenn Aiel are to the Creator.

She shows herself as Jenn Aiel and cares what happens to the Aiel because... well... she chose them to be her mascots.

Ok this is not exactly plausible in my mind but still I LOVE it!

Now that is an interesting theory and it makes a lot of sense in light of the focus on balance in WoT.

After reading through here I am convinced Nakomi may be an Anti-Forsaken. Someone who gave her soul completely to the creator and has immortality. Perhaps the reason she is familiar to Aviendha is that she was in her vision of the Jenn aiel when she went to Rhuidean earlier. Her name is ancient because SHE is ancient.

That's not a bad idea, Madrin. I had a half fleshed-out idea that Aviendha had seen Nakomi in one of her visits to Rhuidean but it didn't cross my mind that she could be the Creator's version of a Forsaken.

...Though couldn't the Heroes of the Horn be a sort of Anti-Forsaken group? :arch

Hm, I don't know if I'd say that about the Heroes of the Horn. The Pattern chooses them for having done great things in their life. And while they don't really die in the sense that most people do, they're still limited to Tel'aran'rhiod, with the exception of actually being ripped out by a channeler as we see with Birgitte, or called by the Horn of Valere.

I imagine Nakomi having spent most of her time living in Rhuidean, waiting for a time when she was needed. To bring hope to the Light, as it were. There would be plenty of places to hide there any time someone came. Or perhaps she was continuously working towards that goal, but in the background, so we never encountered her?

Some people argue that the Borderlander phrase, "May you shelter in the palm of the Creator's hand, and may the last embrace of the mother welcome you home," refers to the Creator and Gaia.
