Does one's gender decide one's ability to join any particular group in Tar Valon? What I've read thus far has not confirmed this one way or the other, although it does seem to be very cisgender oriented and very straight. Is there any restriction based upon one's gender?

This is a tricky one. Yes and no, it can effect where you go, but at the same time exceptions have been made. It is best to contact membership@tarvalon.net to have this discussion. <3 Good Luck!

It's a possibility that in the future, gender won't be a factor, but for right now, yes, gender will define which path you take at the Tower. However, as Arie mentioned, exceptions can be made for people going through a transition or those who have completed a transition.

That is disappointing. But given the sexist nature of Randland, not entirely unexpected. Thank you for the responses. Cheers! :)

I'm sure some arrangement can be made, feel free to use the e-mail shown above (if you haven't already. :) ) We do try to be as inclusive and accommodating as possible.

From my limited understanding...if one is a girl and presents as a girl and knows that they are a girl, the tower will accept them as a girl. Same as a boy. We have transgendered people on the site who are in the ajah or company that they feel most comfortable with. Correct me if I am wrong.

We do. We are also looking to doing away with "gender" as a defining factor in which path you take, so it may not be too long before gender doesn't matter.

Reguardless of what may happen in the future though, why don't you make an intro topic so we can get to know you better? Also, there are some discussion threads about gender and sexism in the discussion forums that you can express your opinions on and discuss with the rest of us here :)

Joining the Tower is optional so if you don't wish to follow that path you can also apply to be a resident citizen and have access to the Apartments :pleased-1: I can't wait to see your intro post and welcome you properly!
