YAY I was super worried about who is going to play Moiraine, but I do believe this is the best choice ^^

I do hope they darken her hair, but I can totally see it otherwise. She's got a calm serene presence. Plus she's old enough to not look young, but also doesn't look old, so I'm guessing that's how they'll interpret "ageless".

Is it me or does she look a little bit like Ellen Pompeo?

Owena, I know what you mean. I've been super distracted all day over it. It's not only feeling real to me, but I'm feeling really hopeful as well.

Super excited about this! Now that the dam has broken, there should be at least a few more casting announcements in the short term, hopefully over the next few weeks.

It's pretty crazy! I was discussing with my husband yesterday for a long time. It feels so up in the air, still, but things are really moving along.

I hope there's a new casting announcement soon. I'm feeling anxious about Rand & Nynaeve for some reason.

I am still hoping for Viggo Mortensen to play Lan, but I don't think that will happen :(

I adore Rosamund Pike and this has hands-down rekindled my love for WoT. I'm so much more determined to read the books and be raised to an Ajah, now! :horsey

I am most concerned about Nynaeve. But she's my all-time fav. Honestly, if they just cast based on Ariel Burgess' fanart, I would not at all be mad about it. :look

I think Rand and Matt are most important to me.

Definitely on the “Cast Nynaeve and Lan Correctly” bandwagon :tug

This. I want to be able to feel the desperate longing from about five miles away.

Yay, this is so exciting!! I really loved her in Pride & Prejudice. I can totally imagine Rosamund Pike as a serene Moiraine. Though hopefully they can shorten her a bit. :look

I'm happy with the moiraine casting because I don't know who she is. I don't want any of the main characters to be familiar actors to me. That's generally how I feel about shows close to my heart. I don't want pre-formed ideas and opinions about the actor breaking my immersion.

Rosamund Pike did a great job in Gone Girl, Pride and Prejudice and in Jack Reacher. I can't wait to see what she does with Moiraine!
