Question about "introduction" forum...

I thought that the introduction forum was for new people introducing themselves. Lately, I have seen a lot of old timers starting threads there because they have been gone for a long time. I am not saying it is bad or wrong, because I liked it. However, aren't "old timers" who have kept their title supposed to post in maybe the SM thread to say "hey I am back?" That way we don't clog up the introduction forum? Maybe we need another forum for long lost people returning. Just a question.

Well, I suppose they could. But a lot of "oldies" tend to disappear into the ranks, and often posting in introduction gives them a chance to not only reintroduce themselves to the site but also meet some of the newer members. So while I, personally, don't see a reason to give them their own forum (on top of all the other private forums) what you are suggesting isn't a terrible idea. It does feel a little redundant, is all. :hug

I understand it but from my position it doesn't happen as often. I like seeing SMs reintroduce themselves. I also think that new members benefit from it as well. Now if it was more constant and I saw new member threads getting bumped or less attention then I would speak up. But for now indent see an issue. Plus if it gets someone who lurks more active I like it. :)

I like seeing the oldsies post in the intro forum to go "Hey! I'm back :D" too :D. It's awesome.

I was considering posting my thread somewhere else but couldn't think of where and I'd been gone for so long it almost felt like it'd be proper to post there.. :look:
