Get yourself an ad blocker, and you're done.

Miridyth Sedai, are you seeing the ads even when TV.net is the only website you have open?

Also, what browser do you use?

I'd recommend trying something besides Kapersky. I personally use Avast (it's free), and a lot of people also really like AVG (also free). A lot of places and people would say to use Norton or McAfee but I've had horrible experiences with them and they cost money.

I use Avast against viruses, and use Ad Block Plus, Ghostery and NoScript on top - you're pretty well protected against stuff of all sorts with that combination and you can adjust those to your own needs if necessary.

I'm a big fan of TrendMicro's Housecall for PCs antivirus, which is webbased, so you know your local copy can't've gotten corrupted by a virus (and no need to download updates!). I like Sophos for the Mac. :) Both are free.

Thread is a bit old, but just to confirm, yes it's a malware issue. Tarvalon does not have any ads of any sort (even our chat client is not on our servers). And it will never have pop-up ads as long as I have keys to the server :look:

Miridy Sedai, if you like I can walk you through cleaning your PC so you don't have to go to the Geek Squad and spend god knows how much money for them to download three programs and walk off for an hour.

That offer stands for pretty much anyone here >.>

I use the same combo on the family PC. I have to run the scans frequently but it gets the job done -- plus I get both for free :)
