Actually, not everyone chooses to have Visitor Messages enabled. :)

Hi Alora, and welcome back! There are several of us in Virginia and Maryland, and some get together on occasion. Whereabouts are you in NoVA?

Thank you Nandi Sedai its good to be back! :) And hey,you live in MD, what part? That's not far from where I live. Hope Hurricane Sandy didn't mess you up too much, our power never went out here but the wind and the rain was crazy!
Just outside of DC. Fortunately, what I got storm wise was just a hair or two worse than what I would consider a bad storm. :cheeseeni:

Thank you Kiana Sedai! I'm in Manassas :pleased-1: I'd love a get together! There's this nice traditional tea shop in The Plains that serves tea, cakes and sandwiches in a full course tea, very tasty :)

Thank you Mirindyin, once I'm able to send PM's I will :D

Good to hear Nandi Sedai, I was driving down to where my dad lives and saw two power poles which had cracked in half and a tree fallen over some more power lines further up, needless to say my dad has no power at his house atm >.<

Thank you Nymala Sedai and OMG yes it is! LOL I swear I'm so about done with it but I know its not over yet  I tell my husband he is so lucky I love him so much lol Right now we are adjusting his status from the K-1 visa, sent the packet a week ago with that monstrous $1070 fee and still waiting for the paper that says they received it...grrrr lol What visa did you have to do?

Will do Aryawnah Sedai :D Once I can, I'm going to bother everyone that gave me permission to

Thank you Syera :pleased-1:

Yeah I had to pay a significant amount (don't remember how much but that sounds about right) to fill out the paperwork before we were married. We got married in New Zealand and then came back to the States as a married couple, so he came in with the spouse visa and a green card stamp in his passport until his green card came in. It is, indeed, a pain in the a$$. :hug

Thank you Qamra Sedai! I can tell its a great group of people already ;)

I was thinking about doing that visa Nymala Sedai, and sometimes wish I did because it would be a lot easier even though it takes longer to process initially. We did the fiance visa because I have no patience and wanted him back with me asap  Bad Alora bad!!!

Thank you Theolyn!! :)

Welcome back, Alora- and I'm part of the "imported hubby" club, as mine's a Scotsman, and huzzah for the paperwork, paperwork, paperwork. :desk :p They're lucky we love them, seriously. :indifferent: Though mine was able to work from the day he arrived because his job transferred with him- then again, that was... nearly 6 years ago, so I'm guessing the process has changed somewhat since then. :(

Jahily: thanks and welcome to you too :)

Tikvah: thanks and welcome! I'd love to learn more about Judaism :)

Kassidy: thank you and I'm having an awesome time taking classes with you :pleased-1: thanks for the Christmas card!

Alerus: thanks and welcome to you too! Feel free to pm or vm me anytime :pleased-1:

Lireina Sedai:  ah yes our imported hubby's :pleased-1: that paperwork is a bitch and a half LOL we did a fiancé visa so it required him to adjust his status after coming here and our wedding, so he wasn't able to work right away because of that. He has his work authorization now though! And his green card is still being processed :) if we would have gotten married first then filed a spouse visa he could have worked right away upon entering the country but we were told that would take longer :( but it's all good now!
