So, what do you all think about the MoL excerpts so far?

Prologue:

Chapter 1:

Chapter 11:

I don't know what to say about the Prologue. More new people, DO's touch is strong... Mainly, this makes me impatient to read the rest of the book...

In chapter 1, we see a sad scene of Andor being in flames, and then Rand laughs - which is I guess a good thing, as it's the Reformed Rand now - but my feelings about the portrayal are a mix. Nice to have discussion between the main characters, though, after so many books apart.

And Mat back in Ebou Dar, and assasins after Tuon. That's going to be interesting, nice cliffhanger point there. :p

Now, time to wait, and wait some more for the book.

What we have gotten so far as just had my mouth watering for more. Now with the entire prologue coming out on October 2nd I'm even more excited. As far as what I hope eventually gets in the book Is a scene of Egwene with the whole Hall, The Wise Ones, and the Wind Finders all facing down Tuon about the Seanchan leashing women. Given of course Matt doesn't somehow end that practice himself.

Well, before I read the whole version of chapter one, I was going to say that we got tidbits, but not really much information

But now...
:brown-blink:
Wow. Now I REALLY need to know what happens next! And apparently, Mat and Moiraine haven't gotten to Merrilor yet...

January can't come quickly enough! :ugeek

Ugh... I was going to try to be good and wait until the book is actually released but this is killing me. I have to buy the prologue and read that chapter. :cry

I'm so excited for the book to come out. I just finished reading chapter 1, and read the prologue yesterday. There's the obvious things to talk about, but one thing that really excited me was visiting the Village. I knew there had to be something like that for Isam to grow up in the Blight. Also, I'm really curious what abilities the Talentless have ... and why Slayer fears them, but not the Chosen ... and yet they fear the Chosen. It's like rock, paper, scissors.

I don't think he fears the Talentless, but the Samma N'Sei. I think they are able to channel, and from his remarks about breeding true, maybe have been doing so for generations, though there is something odd about that as well. I do wonder why Talentless is capitalised

Ooh, also, I love the foreshadowing. The whole "the blood will bring us the light" ... or whatever it says. And then ... "Wait for the light." I think that's a huge moment of prophecy that'll lead to exactly what's going down in the last battle.

"Twice Dawns The Day" and now "Wait For The light". My speculation, There will be a Eclipse. During that eclipse if they Break the remaining seals they loose. They must wait for the Light to return when it ends. And ... Wait For It... "Watch For The Shadow At Noon" before breaking them. (The Great Hunt Refrence)

The thing I'm most curious about is whether Rand or Egwene is going to persuade the other that their theory is right :p One of them will have to give :look:

Is it possible to buy the prologue without having an e-reader type device? :\

Ninya, if you buy it on Amazon, they have a free e-reader link for you to read it on.

Adu Sedai, I think there's a chance they can simply come to a compromise. It seems to me like Egwene isn't against breaking the seals like she seemed initially. She just wants it to be timed correctly.

Amazon have a kindle app for PCs and iphones (probably other things as well) as do Barnes and Noble, and Adobe Digital editions is free so can be used to read books from Kobo or Google Books (though both of those can also be read on the nook software, and probably the kindle)

Yeah. I thought about mentioning it here, but realised that your response when I told you about it was not PG-13, so I shouldn't :p

Was it really not? I remember me saying "Oh my got, I haven't read it yet! I read the prologue on the flight here, and was going to read Chapter 1 on the way home!" Which is what I did. But it was a shock, I wouldn't be surprised if that's not exactly what I said.
