Welcome to TarValon.net! :D

What's your favorite PC game? Or maybe your favorite few, I can never pick just one personally.

The Descent series was an early favorite, even though I couldn't afford full versions so never finished one until Descent 3. I also include Freespace and Freespace 2 in there, even though they were very different games.

Deus Ex and The Elder Scrolls have also been consistently great franchises.

Mass Effect 1-3, haven't done Andromeda.

A Need for Speed game is nice for some casual racing once in a while. I did Underground 1-2, Most Wanted, and Undercover.

I played lots of Star Wars: The Old Republic in its first year, then moved on to Guild Wars 2 for a few years, then to Elite: Dangerous.

I'm kind of between games right now. Recommendations welcome!

We've got some overlap, then! Skyrim is one of my top three most-played games, along with World of Warcraft and Minecraft. Out of your list, I've also played Mass Effect 1 (most of it, @Mewl Windrunner really wants me to finish so I can play 2), SWTOR, and Guild Wars 2.

Right now I'm super busy so I have little time for gaming. I play WoW when I do get time, but that's only one or two evenings a week.

Hello! Some of you will know me as Steve Godecke, the video guy from JordanCon. Hearing that TV is doing male Aes Sedai, I finally got interested in joining.

I started reading WoT in the early '00s and have mingled with TV people at every JordanCon except 2015. I'm currently 38 and living in Iowa.

For those who don't already know me, I'll say up front that I'm holding back stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma in my throat. This springs from radiation damage that I took when fighting another cancer in my jaw when I was 3. I've tried several types of treatment, but none have worked quite as well as we'd like, so now I'm just fighting for all the quality time I can get. The cancer's going to get me eventually, but I've been saying long before this situation developed that the only way a person truly loses to cancer is by letting it take over and shut down their spirit. That's not going to happen here.

Edit to add: this only covers what happened to me before last September, but it'll tell you a lot:

Welcome, this post was Inspiring indeed.
