Both Nyavene al’Meer and Eniara Kisharad are leaving their Historian positions after long service. With many thanks to the two of them for everything they’ve done in and for this Department, I’m now searching for their replacements as Tower Historian and Events Historian.

Tower Historian
This is a non-rotating staff position in the Department of Reseach and Records responsible for documenting the history of the Tower's real world and web activites and maintaining all site-related portions of the TarValon.Net library. • Histories - making sure the history of the Tower is well documented
  • Changes -
    • Any time structure is changed the new structure will need to be added
    • Personnel - making sure each department is updated every time they have a change, making sure that subgroups, such as online events have a page, recording winner of "best...." on that page
  • Bondings/raisings - keeping up to date
  • Community pages - making sure the links are valid and that content isn't inappropriate
Communicates with Department heads or people assigned by them to make sure all pages relevant to the TarValon.Net pages are adequately maintained.

Expectations
  • Must be a member in good standing.
  • Must know wiki formatting or be willing to learn.
  • Familiarity with the bylaws, chain of command and administrative structure is very helpful.
Time Commitment
Must be willing to spend a minimum of 2 hours a week at this position.

Events Historian
The Events Historian is a non-rotating staff position in the Department of Research and Records, though it works closely with the Department of Events and Conferences. Its duties are to gather details on Official Events and make sure that they are recorded in our Library. The Events Historian reports to the Director of Research and Records.

Time served in this position counts towards the Staff Merit.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Proactively maintains information on events and conferences in the TarValon.Net Library.
  • Record details of our official events and conferences as they move through planning stages and after they occur.
  • Create a stub page for parties when the location is announced.
  • Add details as they are released on the forums via official posts, e.g. dates, schedule, packet etc.
  • Update after the party with pictures, reviews, final attendee list, tournament winners, bondings, raisings, fundraisers, etc.
  • Wherever possible, update past event pages with the same details.
  • Follow established guidelines for editing the Library wiki.
Expectations
Must possess discretion, as they may have access to working dates or event details before they are ready to be made public knowledge.

Time Commitment
Have approximately 2 hours per week to dedicate to finding and posting updates, although some weeks may require more or less time.

Qualifications
  • Anyone of any rank or position may apply. Must have been a member of the site for at least 6 months.
  • Have a working knowledge of wiki coding, or the ability to pick said knowledge up quickly. Familiarity with the site Library is preferrable.
