[Sakan al'Galrodan]

Hello people,

I'm Matt. I'm a Canadian ex-pat living in Boston for nearly 17 years. I became a fan of the WoT in '95, and for several years wrote for a few RP sites as the character Sakan al'Galrodan, a Malkieri warrior raised in Fal Dashar, a guard town in Shienar near the border of Arafel and the Blight. I haven't RPed in many years, but one of my fellows authors and I became friends and stayed in touch, and we planned to dig up the old RPs, polish them up, and republish them as a blog. My friend passed away this past fall from a sudden and unexpected heart attack, and in her memory, I've started that blog (malkierimusings.wordpress.com). I'm also an actor, and since the High Fantasy indie scene is pretty slim in Boston, I have started to go through my old stories to adapt them to some short indie fanfics.

In all my years as a major WoT fan (I've read the entire series ten times, not including the re-reading from the beginning every time a new book came out), I've never heard of this community, and when I did, I decided to check it out to see what it's all about.

Hi! I RPed at the STower, and the Cuendillar Tower, which became the CTower, and the Seals of Time. I've always written as Sakan al'Galrodan, although I know a lot of people wrote multiple characters. I had a few NPCs who had recurring roles in my stories - Tovan Gavanon, a Cairhienin merchant turned Gaidin, Marion al'Kalimar, Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah, and a Tu'atha'an named TIlli who was Sakan's love interest in a really crazy story where his company was overwhelmed by an ambush of Shadowspawn, his bondmate was killed, and he was left for dead only to be revived by the Tu'atha'an.

Thank you, it was. She was my oracle. She knew everything about the WoT; we'd talk theories, and real world analogs, and details that are left to the imagination (like, what do threads of the Power look like?). In all my writings, she was my soundboard. She'd tell me what made sense, what didn't, what was supported by the books, what wasn't, with a genuine desire to help me make the best work possible.

My two mains I wrote were Maihgread Tomanes, a White sister from Tear, and Saowynn Ardashir, a Green from Arad Doman. If we ever bumped into one another somewhere, it probably would've been with Maihgread. She was never very good at that whole White sister logic thing, and she was as prejudiced as most Tairens, so she she was always entertaining!

Also, neither one liked the Blue Ajah AT ALL, so of course that's where I ended up here

I was part of CTower, though I don't know if our paths crossed. My character's name was Rissara Diamoca, I think. Also played Ninya Evoneigh for a long time at Twin Towers...though that was kind of a niche site and I'm not even sure how I found it in the first place. :rofl
