"Following" and "Update Your Status"

By now we're all aware that these forums will allow us to follow people, and we can update little fun statuses to our profile page and other people can comment on these. But I'm wondering if the forum software is set up to go a step further. When you follow people it shows their picture under people you follow for who's online, but I'm wondering if there is a way to see a social media like feed where you can go to a page to see everyone you follow's statuses, kind of like a twitter feed? It seems like it is one step away from being like that anyway but I can't seem to find if there is a link that will allow you to see that.

I did find one that says "Activity stream for all registered members at The White Tower." which looks like it shows all profile posts and forum posts for everyone on the forums, but it would be really cool to see a feed like this just for those you follow

Ok well I just found it "Activity stream for all users you follow" https://www.tarvalon.net/index.php?account/news-feed yay Tarvalon.net Twitter, could be a selling point?

I was about to chime in with that. I don't really use that feature a lot, though. My brain is just more wired to forums. :P
