Yeah, that's what I was speaking of :p

They only belong in the south if Tar Valon wishes to embrace all that slavery stands for :cheeseeni: If they don't believe this then it should change to wherever Pip is located.

Deoan, all that needs to be done is for everyone to chant at the same time that they don't believe in slavery and then it will be defeated.

That is enough talk about slavery though, i need to go back to slaving away at work.

I firmly agree with that sentiment, Mathei Gaidin and am pleased to inform you that The Department of Curmudgeonry is currently looking into it.

Kids - let's take the banter elsewhere. This is supposed to be an informative post.

For the most part I agree with Pip. A couple of people would not be enough. It would be a very hard spot for a few to honestly fill. That said, it would be nice to be a little more friendly to all of our international Jordan fans. TarValon.net has a stringent requirement about the use of English.

This is just an idea guys. Dont kill me. :eek

Wait! Wait! Wait! Hear me out. There are a ton of Jordan fans out there that would love to join us. But their English is bad. WOT has been produced in almost every language. Just having this option would make us the most friendly site on the web. Since nobody else offers it. What if we allowed regional(per major multinational language) sub forums that would allow a lessening of the before mentioned English requirement so long as there was a sufficient number of forum moderators that will militantly ensure that no abuses occur, that the rules and bylaws of our society were understood and enforced. That the users of those said forums will abide by English only outside of their language forum. The last thing we need is some pedo or terrorist types using our server to pass messages or hurt people. That those moderators make weekly reports to the DOA so that we all know whats going on.
IE:
"The International-Regional Forum" is the parent folder of:
Arabic, Mandarin, Persian(Farsi), Portuguese, Spanish, German, French, Finnish, Dutch, Italian, Serbo-Croatian, Russian, Japanese... ect ect sub forums.
Each forum could have translated copies of Ask the White Tower and Site Announcements. They could have their own Book Discussion and Community Events threads. These forums could come and go as need dictates. So long as there are trusted moderators(mandatory. IE no trusted made real moderators = no forum) available. Yes this would take an army of people to accomplish. But if they have enough to try. I say let them try.

Though I wonder if all of these can use our font(lat-eng-us)? I dont think we would like to recompile a bunch of different language fonts. If you wanted to. It would kinda be a little server heavy. Though your server is Ubuntoo Linux and is defiantly capable of such a recompile that would not effect the rest of the site. Just use the --update flag in stead of --install in your apt-get command line argument. The same can be said of Portage if you have that as your package manager(though changing your "use file" and updating your world would probably be easier). Not sure about RPM's though.

Granted the Creator Robert Jordan spoke in English. But still, if a dozen or so wanted a little forum so their friends could understand whats going on here. That they could hold local events. We could explode in our numbers. The one thing that binds us all together is our love for WOT.

The main site does offer multiple language versions. The forums, I don't fully expect that change to take place. I suggest that you contact Vivianna Sedai, Director of Moderators, and Dralyn Sedai, the Keeper, for your proposal.

There were no application for anyone interested in de-Americanizing the Membership Survey. We'll do the best we can to make the Membership Survey more applicable to all of membership despite this. We will revisit this next year at this time.
