I would also think a moderator wouldn't block a person based on an avatar as it would impede their job duties.. *shrugs* Blocking a person is different from taking their posts seriously or not..

He's a good guy over all even when prone to his own odd sense of humor.. if one chooses not to get to know him based on a picture to the left side of the screen that is ones own choice..

Sounds good :)

I look forward to meeting him.

I don't think moderators can actually ignore someone in their own forum. It may not show up in other forums, but I don't think the ignore function works in forums you moderate. I also don't think people can ignore moderators in their own forums either. I may be remembering that from our previous software, though. Erin would know better.

If you ignore a Moderator, you still see their posts. If they ignore you, they still see your posts. Nature of the role.

I think that an important idea to remember is that the goal of the avatar is to be a representation of self. So... By all means (as per the alterations Sa' mentioned) if that's who he is and who he wants people to think he is.

I always thought that an avatar was suppose to help show to a point yourself. It doesn't mean it has to be a certain thing but it's suppose to sing to you something that only you can understand, a lot like reading a book or watching a movie. With an avatar everyone will take it differently. Just because one person doesn't like it doesn't mean someone may not like it. I personally am indifferent to it because it's silly, but not to my taste. I'm still really new here so maybe it's just how I see it.

Your avatar is your face on the site, and if you plan to join the Tower and go through the ranks, it should be humanoid at the least, nothing offensive no nudity, and other than that it has always seemed that anything else goes.

So I was just wondering... I read through this and somewhere was mentioned that the Avatar should be humanoid in some way... My question is, is this okay? I can delete it if not. Thanks guys!

•Avatars, or the images we use on our message boards and the Who's Who, must not be currently in use by an active Tower member.
•Avatars must be chosen carefully as changes will not be allowed after the initial selection. An avatar change is only allowed when the artist of the original artwork denies the usage of the avatar; in which case contact Sa'areah Sedai, the Director of Membership at membership@tarvalon.net and petition an avatar change. Also, check out the post below for helpful information on artists.
• Only GIF and JPG formats are allowed.
Avatars must be exactly 110x170 pixels. No exceptions
• Animated avatars are not allowed.
• Members must have the artist's permission to use an avatar if the image is not in public domain. It is solely the user's responsibility, and TarValon.Net does not take responsibility for any avatars used by its members. If it is brought to the attention of the administration that a user is using an image illegally, the user will be asked to comply with the wishes of the artist.
• Also, there are other guidelines concerning avatars:
o All avatars should be human.
o The avatar shouldn't have broad frames.
o No obscenity is tolerated.
o No real life pictures unless it is your own
