I am extremely pleased to announce that we will be hosting a party in the South Pacific for 2014!! Many, many thanks to Mhor Sedai for her epic bid for Brisbane, Queensland, Australia!! One of my favourite comments was the slogan for Brisbane “Beautiful One Day, Perfect the Next”, how could we turn that down?! :pleased-1:

Obviously we are very early in the planning stages however we are aiming for this event to be around the September to November period with a similar format to Fall Ball. With Australia Zoo, Seaworld – Gold Coast, Dreamworld and the Outback Spectacular amongst our options for the event and for people to visit to make the most of their trip, this party should be amazing! :clap

Keep an eye on the forums and we will update you as and when we can!

Huge thanks to Mhor Sedai again – I mean being Blue Head of the Ajah and a Mistress of Revels at the same time is going to take some work! :p

COngrats Mhor Sedai! I'd love to come :pleased-1:

Actually Mentor we don't need visas since there is the Visa Waiver program, although on second thought maybe I will need one since Lok is Australian...I don't want them to deny me thinking I'm trying to sneak in to live there  (Although I totes wouldn't mind :look: :))

:scratch Australia doesn't have a visa waiver program.

http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_954.html

ENTRY / EXIT REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS: You must have a valid U.S. passport and a visa to enter Australia. Most U.S. passport holders traveling to Australia for tourism or business purposes for less than 90 days can obtain an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA). The ETA is an electronic label-free visa and can be obtained at the ETA website for a small service fee. Airlines and many travel agents in the United States are also able to apply for ETAs on behalf of travelers. If you overstay your ETA or any other visa, even for short periods, you may be subject to exclusion, detention, and removal by the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC). You can find more information about the ETA, other visas, and entry requirements from theEmbassy of Australia at 1601 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20036, via the Australian Visa Information Service at 905-280-1437 (toll charges to Canada apply) or their website.

You might be confusing the eVisa (free) for a waiver program?

I think ETA is like the American ESTA, which is a form of visa waiver.

Yes Australians are eligible for the visa waiver program into USA - although in my opinion it isn't a visa waiver when I still have to fill in a form and pay money. Hahahha

Stephen - if you have to get a visa then how can it be a form of visa waiver
You still are required to have a visa (as it states in the first line). USA is eligible for an eVisa (e600) which is just an electronic version of the Visa Subclass 600.

The Visitor visa (subclass 600) is for people who want to travel Australia as tourists, for business or to visit family. It is a temporary visa.

and

The Visitor visa (subclass 600) lets you visit Australia for tourism or business visitor activities.

Note the word Visa in that? :p

I spoke to my mother-in-law last night, she's quite keen to come visit Ghorum and I if we come to Brisbane, so you all may have to deal with her, too!

No immediate plans atm bit we aren't ruling it out :) I'm in love with Adelaide, its where Lok lived when I went to visit him in 2010 :pleased-1: I love the festivals and Glenelg and its a beautiful city :) He's also lived in Melbourne which is where most of his family is now, I did like how he had the wetlands right across from his house :pleased-1: But I've never been there so I don't know. A mutual friend of ours I saw while I was in Adelaide kept trying to tell us to move to Brizzie  saying it was the best but he wouldn't elaborate on why :giggle
