Illyria, you can find bay leaves in the spice aisle at your friendly neighborhood grocery store. They also help keep roaches away and down here is the south, you know those suckers grow to Godzilla proportions! I also keep lavender oil on hand in the kitchen for burns which helps with the healing.
I'm with Satrim on this one Illyria. That oven may be trouble, try placing a bay leaf in each corner of the kitchen for protection, then go get those eyes checked. When I developed near-sightedness my depth perception went and it was hard to drive at night.
