Just saying hello. I've been a long-time reader of WOT but have never really interacted with other fans.

I elected to join because I ran across references to this site while looking for shawl ideas. I'm nearing the end of my shawl project, but remembered this site and decided to join really hoping there would be a community of knitters and shawl-makers on here.

Anarie, I've been poking around on the thread a bit, it looks like there's a lot of ideas.

Ashlyn, I'll definitely get over the the Hand Crafts Board soon.

And, Nymala, I might be putting a crochet border on my knitted shawl, but I may soon get to officially say I myself also crochet

As a fellow knitter, I'm going to recommend A Treasury of Rowan Knits for a WoT-inspired shawl. This is not because there are shawl patterns in it (there aren't), but one of the sweaters features intarsia paisleys that could easily be converted into a Flame.

And Narysse, thanks for the suggestion - I'll take a look! I'm trying to improve my knitting skills and am always looking for new patterns. Although, I think my next project may be learning some of the Norse patterns.
