I'm also kinda hoping that they are able to pull some height tricks (a la LOTR) with Moiraine. I loved that she was physically such a small person compared to the other characters, but had such a big presence and role in the storyline.

My RP group and I had a community canon going on where the Land of Madmen was actually incredibly peaceful and idyllic; that they'd found a way to work with the taint so men and women could continue to work together, and actively worked to keep the myth of madness up, sort of like how the White Tower doesn't think there are any powerful Sea Folk channelers.

Given what we learn about ash'aman-- that most don't seem to go that crazy, or their insanity doesn't always have catastrophic results -- I wouldn't be surprised if that were true. Maybe a woman channeller figured out a way to mitigate some of it, for example.
I really hope the show digs into the fact that the Aes Sedai approach-- gentling or death-- isn't the only answer, and their answer is at least about preserving their power as it is anything else.

There are parallels to how people that have a mental illness are treated (or not treated, as the case may be) in the real world that I'm hoping to see highlighted as well. It's something that needs more attention.
