Hi, I'm Liadan, a Gaelic name meaning Grey Lady. In real life, my name is Heidi, and I have long coppery red hair, green-blue eyes that sometimes are grey. I'm in my late 30s and live somewhere in Northern Utah with my husband of 20 years and my corgi. I am an unpublished author working on my first book. I don't believe in aspiring authors because they never finish and never get published.
I first started using the name online after reading Son of Shadows by Juliet Marieller in September of 2000 (I bought the book on release day). Before this, I had used some form of baby doll as an online handle.
I want to say I was introduced to Wheel of time sometime around 1995/1996 when I was a sophomore in high school. I needed something to read for Engish class while they read the Odessey. Funnily enough, I had read it the previous year through my English class at a different school (military brat we moved around a lot). The teacher said as long as I picked something in the Epic Fantasy genre, he would allow me to do my report on that book. I could recite the entire of the Odessey by memory, and after spending a week creating a chart of the relationship of all the Greek gods and goddesses, I had nothing to do in class. I had just finished the LOTR trilogy and asked the librarian for a recommendation. Her recommendations were A Man Rides Through by Stephen R. Donaldson and The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan. I read both.
My favorite author (Jordan & WoT aside) would be Brandon Sanderson, and my favorite series is his Stormlight Archive. I read pretty much anything that isn't horror or romance. I have a habit of getting lost in Wikipedia, and my friends call me Liapedia because of it. I will pull out random facts about history or literature when the topics come up in conversation.
I speak English and remember very little of the four years of Japanese I took in High School and College. I am, however, very adept at using Google Translate and often converse with people in Spanish, French, Arabic, Portuguese, Dutch, Hindi, Chinese, Greek, and Italian. This ability comes as a by-product of my job. I am a customer-facing technical support representative for stock charting and analysis program.

Who would you say is your favourite character from Wheel of Time?

My favorite WoT character is a hard one. I've related to so many characters through my 20+ years with the books.
When I was younger Egwene was someone I could relate to, as I've gotten older Nynaeve is someone I can really relate to. Up until I cut my hair to donate about 6 weeks ago I would wear it in a braid (similar to the avatar I am using right now) and her hair pulling especially I can understand. If you have long hair you get it. I also can identify with Moiraine and Verin. I'm intrigued by the forsaken and why they aligned with the Dark One, and sometimes feel bad for Moghedien as nasty as she was. I've always been a fan of Mat, and while many don't see much progression in his storyline, he was a favorite as his progression wasn't in behavior as much as it was in his attitude and willingness to walk into danger because it was the right thing to do.

Honestly, I have to admit that it's the interaction between all of the characters and not a single one that makes the whole story work for me. The good and the bad together. I can't pick a favorite. If I could have a dinner party with the characters I would send invites to:

Lan & Nynaeve
Egwene & Gawyn
Mat & Tuon
Perrin & Faile
Rand, Min, Elayne, & Aviendha
Moiraine
Verin
Moghedien
Lanfear
Gareth & Siuan

the combination of your hair and eyes sounds absolutely lovely! :D

After I got over being annoyed at Nynaeve for being so bossy, I really started liking her. She is now my uncontested favorite :love
