I'm gonna find out if she's coming to any conventions around here, then get her to sign something, even though she'd probably be there for Power Ranger stuff.

It's really just hit me that in the future these actors could be signing on at fan conventions in the future :eek

Excited for more casting.

But definitely eager for the location and costuming as well. :-)

I feel a lot of people look at the castings in this way...

The "Two Rivers look" = Everyone looks somewhat the same.

I agree with this as it keeps everything "by the books". But I also agree that talent and the ability to own their character is more important that the color of skin or even the sex of the actor/actress. The color of the actors/actresses has little to do with the overall story and is not something people should worry about.

Consider "I'm Not There" (2007). Cate Blanchett assumes the role of Bob Dylan and she owned that role.

The WoT TV series is in good hands my friends!

I’ve always seen the Two Rivers and Andor as more British as at first I was disappointed by the casting. But after looking up more pictures of the cast I’ve been sold ☺️ Just don’t F up the Aiel!

Would I like it if the different nationalities each had a distinct ethnic feel to them? Yeah, it would feel more in line with how the books constantly bring up cultural differences. (See Rand looking out of place in the Three Rivers, for example.)

Will their choices lessen my enjoyment of the show? Probably not too much, if at all. And who knows, maybe they’ll find a way to tie these actors into a similar cultural feel despite their difference in looks.

Still continuing with my tempered optimism, and like others, excited we’re getting news :)

Sooo true!!

I was just talking with a friend about this and he goes "Oh, I've met Zoe Robins! She's really nice. She was also on Power Rangers".

I'm two degrees from the WoT cast :look:
:suck

I can't wait for costuming!!

I'm really psyched on these actors. :D I don't know any of their previous work, but I can already envision them as their characters (even if not exactly the faces that were already in my mind). Just the sort of group to follow Moiraine off on some damn fool idealistic crusade a perilous journey across the world.

All the Two Rivers folk cast so far other than Mat do have a similar look. And, more importantly, in the book it is specified that Two Rivers folk have dark hair and dark skin. Given the general reaction to Tuon and dark Seafolk later, that probably doesn’t mean full on African – dark black, but imo the actors cast as Nynaeve, Perrin, and Egwene are a lot closer to the book descriptions than the book cover art was.

The boys are not how I imagined them, but the girls, and especially Egwene, is perfect! I have a really good feeling about this, even if I never seen them act before.

Autumn, I've felt like that too. I've wanted a TV adaptation for so long that I've been really afraid it would all just dissipate into nothing again. To be getting such amazing castings and so much news all at once today...it's a lot to take in.

I'm still feeling wary. After all, how many shows fail after the pilot? Or after one season? If this makes it, and it's in *any* way kind of good, we need to be sure to vote with our money to keep it alive.

I love all of these, though I'd always imagine Nynaeve as the ultimate annoying stereotypical white girl. So that'll take some getting used to. :P Regardless, these casting choices are amazing and have increased my faith in this project tremendously.

Also, y'all, Rand is gonna be so annoying with his Dutch accent. D:

He'll probably have a vocal coach! Jaime Lannister didn't have an accent, and Nicolaj Coster-Waldau is Danish!

Melisandre (Carice van Houten, Dutch actress) had a horribly thick Dutch accent, though. :P
