Is WOT alone worth the subscription to Amazon?

I'll put in a second on Good Omens and throw in The Man in the High Castle. It was good.

Maiel, Rafe Judkins is the show runner for WoT and he's a super WoT nerd, so I trust him.

I don't know if WoT alone is worth the sub, but I pay for mine exclusively for The Man in the High Castle and The Expanse, and I get the shipping benefits for free (is how I see it)

I got it for The Expanse and because i knew WoT would be on there.
In my opinion the expanse is the best sci fi series in the past decade. Can't wait for the next season.
I also watched Picard, Carnival Row, Good Omens and American Gods on it. Enjoyed all of it, especially Good Omens is beautiful.
With that and LotR and WoT coming to prime i think it's a good choice. And i have heard good stories about several of the other series on there as well which i will definitely check out soon.

There's no release date yet. I believe they're still filming and then it has to go to post production. Sometime 2021 is the conventional wisdom as far as I'm aware.

It makes me nervous. My imagination has played out the pages in the books so vividly that I feel like watching the series would taint (no pun intended) something already perfect as it is in my mind. I guess I'll wait and see what others think of it before watching anything. :cheeseeni:

My intention is to go into it forcing myself to acknowledge that it's just a different thing. Yes it's based on the Wheel of Time, but it's not going to be a word-for-word adaptation. That would be impossible. If I can look at it as a new interpretation of the story, I think I'll enjoy it more.

Oh good idea, having low expectations and being objective is a great plan. Hopefully we get some teasers or small trailers along the way to get a feel for the direction they’re going.

Do you think this will lead to more companies making their own version of the series?

I'm too afraid to even watch trailers and teasers, I just have the world built up in my mind a certain way, even seeing the casting kind of ruined a re-read for me already. I don't think I can risk seeing anymore of this series, maybe when I finish my second re-read in the coming years I will watch it all, but I really want to savor (one last time) what my imagination conjures before I let it become influenced.

The Boys is a pretty good show. Weirdly horrifying and hilarious at the same time. Karl Urban is in it, and he's amazing. Prime also has Doctor Who. Kindle First Reads, Amazon Music as well. It's completely worth it for me. I pay by the year.

WOT has different directors for various episodes. I think they might be working in blocksk of two episodes each, but I'm not sure.
