I thought that was a joke the showrunner made when he was answering questions about the series a while back.

"How many seasons would you make to be able to make the series correctly?"
"36... but that seems untenable."

I hope so. I mean I get what they're saying, the series is so long. but lol yeah I don't think anyone would option a show for that many seasons

I would absolutely lose my shit (in the happy way) if Paul Rudd were Thom. Big fan.

Wow, I honestly think 6 or 7 season would be best. I think they should cut a lot. Not because it's fluff, but because the story truelly is too big for TV. Keep a few of the main events, focus on the Two Rivers folk, merge characters, etc. Otherwise people will get bored and the show will be cancelled or funds reduced. And use cheaper actors to save money for effects.

I do hope we get to see more of the cast soon! I'm mostly curious about the main characters, but the Emond Field's folk like the Luhhans, al'Veres, Tam, the Cauthons, and so on are so dear to me.

Yeah, no way are they not going to cut a ton and bring it down to eight seasons at most. Plus, I already struggled through those dragging books, I don't want to have to struggle through a dragging show.

 That's fantastic

I think they'll be able to cut a lot because Jordan was often very repetitive in his narration. I definitely remember thinking, "Yes, yes, I know this already, can we get on with it?"

You mean you don't want to see every instance of skirt smoothing or dry washing of hands on film??? Lol

Nah, they can do that. Everyone smooth their skirt or dry wash their hands or tug their braids, but do it AS THEY TALK and it won't take up nearly as much time. :P

That said, now I'm envisioning the youtube compiliations that will come out after the show airs. "Skirt smoothing on WoT" etc

And yet, he's not nearly as repetitive as Terry Goodkind.

And sniffing. And musing how your friends know more about women than you do lol
I don't doubt that they will limit those things but maybe do it a couple times as a wink to the readers

Like the explanation of Min's visions. Like I know it's been a while since the last book but geez RJ I think your readers might know who Min is. It was almost like he was trying to write each book like someone could start at that point in the series and be fine.

I am very curious what a Trolloc and Myrdraal will look like, does anyone know if they will be cast with real people and costumed up heavily, or will it be animation?

It will be possible to cast them as people I think.. I mean, they walk on two legs, and are human-like...

They were able to make Orcs, I don't see how Trollocs are any harder...

Trollocs are basically orc ripoffs, anyway. And myrdraal are ringwraight ripoffs. So it should easily be doable if Jackson could do it nearly two decades ago.

OTOH, this show probably doesn't have the budget LOTR had.
