TarValon.Net, Inc. FundraisingTarValon.Net, Inc. is run and operated solely on the goodwill of its members. All administrators and staff members are volunteers, and there are no membership dues. Though none of our members are paid to work here, we still have annual expenses to run a community of this size. Our budget goes to support operating costs, administrative costs, the Robert Jordan Memorial Scholarship, funding Emergency Loans, and other gifts to charities. As of 2010, our 501(c)3 application is pending; as such, donations made to TarValon.Net, Inc. are tax deductible in the United States. US members will receive an annual receipt aggregating their donations throughout the year. We collect donations from our members in two ways: online and through our official events. Online Donations Contributions to TarValon.Net, Inc. are accepted year-round through paypal. We also hold an annual drive, usually in the northern summer months. During this drive, members are especially encouraged to donate and are given incentives for participating in the funding of our community. Our 2010 annual drive has come to an end, with us exceeding our goal of $5,000. See a list of donors here. Official Event Donations Our official events serve as community fundraisers as well. A portion of every ticket cost goes to the general funds of TarValon.Net, Inc. This allows us to have extra funds for the event in case there is low attendance and to have money for deposits for future events. Various activities at events serve to raise money for our community. These activities usually take place at our North American Anniversary Event but can be held at any official function. The most notable of these include a raffle and our da'covale auction.
