Special Philanthropy Activities

TarValon.Net, Inc. participates in other philanthropy activities when the need arises. These special activities are usually to support a cause that is of particular interest to our community.

In 2007, we gave a donation to the Mayo Clinic, on behalf of Jim Rigney (alias Robert Jordan) in response to his passing. The donation was a combination of money from individual members and from the general community funds. Also in 2007, TarValon.Net, Inc. supported Ziggurat*Con, a gaming convention held for US military oversees. This donation was entirely member-based.

Our biggest fundraiser to date was the drive we facilitated on behalf of Brandon Sanderson in 2009. This drive was open to the entire Wheel of Time community, with prizes of being named/featured in the last three novels in The Wheel of Time. Over $45,000 was raised for Heifer International for this event. We remain in the top three donating groups for Heifer International because of this event.
