Our unofficial events, also known as local events, are usually informal events that our members plan. They are usually much smaller. There is usually no official Tower involvement (such as planning by the Department of Real Life Services or funds provided). As such, the Tower is not responsible for anything that occurs at any unofficial event.
Our Official Events and Conferences usually involve large crowds and lots of people, new experiences, and stressful situations. This is a guide to surviving those times.
Part of the fun of our events is our opening ceremonies and our fundraising efforts. The anniversary party includes the Amyrlin's Court and Tournament. Each event also usually has activities that are specific to that location.
In order to keep TarValon.Net a safe environment, the site has instituted policy for members attending official functions and/or wishing to become Senior Members to be ‘made real.’
One cannot attend an official TarValon.Net function, nor be raised to the rank of Senior Member, without being made real. This consists of:
Showing a recent real life picture of oneself to one’s Membership Administrator.
As part of our commitment to philanthropy, TarValon.Net, Inc. incorporates donation drives and other charity activities into our annual official events. Members are encouraged to bring items to donate to an organization local to where the event is being held. At some events, members will also have the opportunity to participate in activities that will benefit a local organization. In this way, we strive to make our mark on the place we visit and leave it just a little better off.
