As one of our few internally-driven philanthropic programs, Helping Hands encourages member-to-member assistance, with the intent of helping members who have been caught in an emergency and need a little boost up. Members can request help from this program themselves or for someone they know in need. Others will then pool together their resources to help the member in need. The recipient will usually be given actual goods, services, or gift cards instead of monetary assistance.
Our membership strives to be more than just an internet community - we also try to become Servants of All. To that end, we have developed several philanthropic programs that offer our membership and the larger Wheel of Time online community the opportunity to work towards truly becoming Aes Sedai.
Each year around the Feast of Lights, TarValon.Net honors the charitable spirit of the holidays by sponsoring a charity that makes a difference in our world community. This year we're proud to announce our support of "Doctors Without Borders", an exceptional international organization that brings medical care to those who most desperately need it. This emergency aid is provided by volunteer medical professionals who risk their lives to help those affected by war, disease, and disaster. The organization was awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999.
