Servants of All

What is Servants of All?

Servants of All is a program to encourage our members to participate in philanthropic activities outside of our organization. Members will receive recognition for donating money/goods, volunteering their time, and doing other charity work in their communities.

How does Servants of All work?

Feast of Lights

What is Feast of Lights?

Feast of Lights is our annual winter drive that benefits an outside charity. Money is usually collected during the month of December which goes towards a chosen nonprofit organization. This external event is our biggest regular external monetary philanthropic program.

In the past, Feast of Lights has also benefited individual members of the site (sometimes referred to as "Santa Projects"). Internal drives such as these are now considered part of the Helping Hands program. Feast of Lights is now targeted at helping others outside of our community.

Philanthropy at TarValon.Net, Inc.

The Department of Philanthropy aims to lead TarValon.Net, Inc. and the greater online Wheel of Time community in charity activities as part of our mission to truly become Servants of All. The following are some of the programs we offer to meet this end.

Philanthropy at Official Events

As part of our commitment to philanthropy, TarValon.Net, Inc. incorporates donation drives and other charity activities into our annual official events. Members are encouraged to bring items to donate to an organization local to where the event is being held. At some events, members will also have the opportunity to participate in activities that will benefit a local organization. In this way, we strive to make our mark on the place we visit and leave it just a little better off.

Servants of All

Our Servant of All program will encourage members to give back to their communities on an individual basis. Members will be recognized for participating in charity work, including donating money/goods to charities that are important to them and volunteering their time at local organizations in need of help.

This program is still in its planning stages. More information will be posted when the program is implemented.

For more information on Servants of All and other Philanthropy activities, see our Membership Manual.

Feast of Lights

Feast of Lights is our biggest external charity drive. Run every year during the holiday season, members donate money to benefit an outside charity. The charity TarValon.Net, Inc. sponsors changes from year to year.

Helping Hands

As one of our few internally-driven philanthropic programs, Helping Hands encourages member-to-member assistance, with the intent of helping members who have been caught in an emergency and need a little boost up. Members can request help from this program themselves or for someone they know in need. Others will then pool together their resources to help the member in need. The recipient will usually be given actual goods, services, or gift cards instead of monetary assistance.
